Cambodia has benefited greatly from attending the Asian Olympic Council 2024

Phnom Penh: The Members of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, led by HE Secretary General Vath Chamroeun, attended the Annual General Meeting of the Asian Olympic Council on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.


HE Vath Chamroeun confirmed that: The presence of the Cambodia Party in this General Assembly to increase the additional task relations with the 45 countries that participated. The General Assembly also focused on the reports of all the expert committees of the host country that are preparing for major sporting events and games.

There will also be a presentation on the progress of the host city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which is preparing to host the Asian Youth Games 2025. This is the Asian Youth Games that Cambodia will host in 2029 after Uzbekistan. After this presentation, Cambodia also gained experiences and how to organize this youth sports competition as well.


His Excellency Secretary General continued that: There was also had a separate discussion with the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan to prepare for the 2025 Games and to prepare for the transfer program from Uzbekistan to Cambodia in 2029.


Cambodia will receive the flag on behalf of the next host and prepare a spectacle to receive the 45 countries that come to Cambodia in 2029. This is a good thing to get from attending in the General Assembly of the Asian Games Council.

Cambodia made the relations with the National Olympic Committees of other countries and encouraged their athletes to participate in the MMA event which organized by the Olympic Council of Asia and the MMA of Asia in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and the MMA Federation of Cambodia, which will take place from 11 to 13 July 2024 in Phnom Penh in the National Stadium.


The task team of Gordon Tang, Vice President of the Asia Olympic Council and the President of the MMA, has also worked with the Olympic Committee of Cambodia to persuade all members of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) who attended the General Assembly to attend in the large numbers to give the honor to Cambodia, in the mixed martial arts competitions to be well and show the spirits of unities and agreements in the Asian Olympic family.
