H.E. Thong Thon, Acting President of the Cambodia Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said that, the six athletes who were sent to participate in the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship U21 and Adults in Jordan are all capable of winning medals for the Nation.

The Acting President said that: "We are sending athletes who have the potential to win medals for the Nation. Currently, we have 6 athletes, 3 women and 3 men. A male athlete Moeun Lim Sopanha competes under 77 kg of Newaza category. The other 5 athletes compete in Duo and Show categories, which are performance disciplines. They are all gold medalists and other medals at the previous SEA Games and showed good achievements in last year's regional competition in Bali, Indonesia, as well as winning national medals this year.

"For this competition, there is a lot of tension in each discipline, such as the discipline of Moeun Lim Sopanha, but he has just returned from training at an academy in the United States where Jessa Khan used to train, so we have high hopes for him. For Duo and Show, which is a performance discipline, we also have high hopes. But as informed that, this is an Asian level, so the participating countries are all strong, such as the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and South Korea."

Meanwhile, Mr. Jasper Martjin Paas, the coach of the Cambodia national Jiu-Jitsu team, expressed his determination to try to pave the way for his team to win a higher medal level after winning five bronze medals in the United Arab Emirates last year. He believes that if the team will do well at this time, it will give them high hopes of competing for the gold medal in the SEA Games in Thailand in December.

The six athletes who have been sent to compete in the Asian Jiu-Jitsu U21 and Adults Championship in Jordan, there are Moeun Lim Sopanha, Kong Mona Mithora, Touch Pykakada, female athletes such as Tin Sovannbourkeo, Heng Siv Heang, Kong Mona Jessica, led by Sam On Bormei as the delegate, Jasper Martjin Paas as the coach, and Oliver Robert King as the technical officer. The competition will be held from May 20 to 28 in Amman, Jordan.
