(Phnom Penh): After receiving the opportunity to lead the Cambodian national team as an interim coach in late 2024, at this time Koji Gyotoku has now been entrusted by the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) to announce him as the official coach of the Cambodian national team (senior team) and the U23 national team for 2025.

According to the federation's announcement in the morning of March 10, “The Football Federation of Cambodia is pleased to announce to Cambodian national team fans that Koji Gyotoku has been officially appointed as the coach of the Cambodian national team and the Cambodian national team under 23, with a one-year contract.”

Please reminded that, after parting ways with a coach, Mr. Felix Dalmas in October, the federation appointed Mr. Koji as an interim coach to lead the Cambodian Ko-Prey in the campaign of AFF Cup 2024. As a result, they finished fourth in the group with 4 points behind Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, and the regional cup was won by the Vietnamese national team.

According to the federation's plan, after becoming the coach, Koji Gyotoku will lead the Cambodian national team in two friendly matches in March, facing the Vietnamese national team on March 19 in Binh Duong province and the Aruba national team at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on March 25.
