Boxing has been officially included in the Olympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles, USA, according to a decision by the International Olympic Committee's General Assembly on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has voted unanimously to include boxing by creating a new federation to govern the process of the World Boxing.
In February 2022, it was decided that boxing would not be included in the Olympic Games 2028 due to ongoing concerns over the management of the International Boxing Federation (IBA).
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had already approved the boxing at the Tokyo Games 2020 and Paris Games 2024 after the IBA was suspended over governance, finance, refereeing and ethical issues.
