Phnom Penh: The humanitarian football tournament under the theme “Together we donate 1,000 blood units to save lives” to contribute to helping our national society, while the need for blood is increasing day by day, will be held on February 18, 2025, under the presidency of H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Ministry of Public Service, at the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Sports Center at the Old Stadium from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mr. Kuch Chhaiya, General Manager of the Cambodian Sports Presenters Football Team, said that, his team wants to win the hearts of the people more than win the match at the humanitarian football event on February 18. That is, he wants to see people donate blood in large numbers to save lives, while H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Ministry of Public Service and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), announced his participation in the 15th blood donation on that occasion.

Simultaneously with yesterday’s press conference, H.E. Hun Many also provided information through Mr. Sitho Nathan, Chairman of the Cambodian Sports Presenters Football Team that he will participate in donating the blood during the humanitarian football event on February 18, which is the 15th time, due to Dr. Sok Po, Director of the National Blood Center, said in a report that His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister has already volunteered to donate blood to save patients who needed blood for 14 times.

At the same time, Mr. Sok Po also thanked the players and all relevant parties, especially the leaders, who paid attention and encouraged this donation campaign, in line with what the National Blood Center has been encouraged and promoting the voluntary blood donation in all forms.

He considered the humanitarian football event next week to be a meaningful campaign and to create a good habit for players and people across the country to participate in donating blood to ensure sufficient blood supply for patients who need blood in all hospitals, without any discrimination or prejudice of any race or political affiliation.

The Director of the National Blood Center added that: Donating blood does not affect health, as men can donate blood every 3 months and women can donate blood every 4 months, and donating blood regularly not only helps save lives, but also makes us healthier.
