Phnom Penh: HE Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, emphasized that the Morodok Techo National Stadium is considered as a great achievement and a historical building of Cambodia in the modern era. In this sense, we must all work together to preserve this national heritage well and long-lasting, and should use this stadium and the National Olympic Stadium, to be highly effective to raise revenue to the maximum to reduce expenditure of the state budget in accordance with approaching "National Stadium feeds National Stadium". This is the main reason which the Royal Government decided to establish the National Stadium as a public administrative institution.

This statement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, held at the validation and inauguration ceremony of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the National Stadium in the morning of June 26, 2024, with a joint invitation from HE Senior Minister Thong Khon, President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister further stated that: The long-term vision of Samdech Moha Bovor ThipadeiHun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Royal Government, 7th legislature of the National Assembly, decided to establish the National Stadium as a public administrative institution through Sub-Decree No. 39. Dated 22 February 2024 with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, as the technical guardian, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as the financial guardian, for the purpose of managing, maintaining, repairing, and using the National Stadium, which is a valuable property of the state, to last for a long time to leave a precious legacy for the nation and the next generation of Cambodian people. The Deputy Prime Minister continued that the establishment of the National Stadium Institution will also enable this state unit to have budget autonomy and be able to collect revenue to its full potential from the use of the National Stadium in order to gradually reduce the cost of the state budget, and be able to seize the opportunity to expand various relevant revenue sources to ensure the sustainability of the budget to support the process of expanding some necessary support infrastructure, as well as for the development of sports in Cambodia to grow more progressively.  

HE Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, who was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Stadium for the first term of 3 years, also stated that the establishment of the National Stadium as a public institution of administration is the establishment of management, that is a group of cooperation to develop further progress in the future. And what are the seven important recommendations given by His Excellency Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, we are all the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of the National Stadium will work together to develop the Morodok Stadium into a beautiful and attractive one, interview with HE Vath Chamroeun.

The composition of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of the National Stadium, which has been announced for the first mandate of 3 years, has 8 members as like: HE Dr. Chhorn Sopheap, Chairman of the Board of Directors, HE Vath Chamroeun is a Vice Chairman, HE Chea Bora is a Vice Chairman. HE Va Heng Davuth is a member. HE Hab Tuch is amember, Mr. Seng Tola is a member and is the Executive Director of the National Stadium. HE Kim Keo Moniroth is a member and HE Keut Chhe is a member.
