Speaking at the draw ceremony for the first ASEAN International E-Sports Tournament, Exprez Mekong Warriors Invitations 2025, in Cambodia, with 4 countries competing in the round of 8, which held on July 2, yesterday. The tournament will start from July 3-6, 2025, with 5 Cambodian teams and 3 ASEAN teams, including Laos, Vietnam, and Singapore.
The Secretary-General of the Cambodia E- Sports Federation, H.E. Lon Samdy, said that: Hosting the E-Sports competition of the Exprez Mekong Warrior Invitations 2025, Round of 8, is the pride that shows the International community that Cambodia has peace and political stability, making the sports sector grow up, and making countries with athletes participating in the competition have high confidence and trust in Cambodia.
While hosting the tournament also benefits from promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential. At the same time, the event of the Exprez Mekong Warrior Invitations 2025 is also a contribution to strengthening the quality of Cambodian players in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December 2025.
His Excellency continued that: “The SEA Games in Thailand in the Mobile Legend category will include both men and women. Cambodia has notified the SEA Games Organizing Commission that we will send male and female athletes to participate. However, we are also waiting the host country lets us to send how many teams to participate”.
It should also be noted that, the competition has two stages such as:
Stage 1: Online qualifiers, in which Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Singapore have 219 teams registered to compete. As a result, 2 Cambodian teams have advanced to the last 8.
Stage 2: Offline qualifiers in Cambodia, in which the host country Cambodia has 3 teams waiting and 2 teams that have qualified for the qualifiers, while Singapore, Vietnam and Laos have no teams that have qualified, but each of the three countries has one team that has been invited to participate. Therefore, this round has 8 teams competing on the live stage in Cambodia, starting from July 3 to 6, 2025 at Chip Mong Supermarket 271.
In this event, the first place team will receive a prize of $6,000, second place will receive $3,000, and third place will receive $2,000, and teams 4 to 8 will also receive a cash prize.
