The National Tennis Championship 2024 Focuses On Youth

Phnom Penh: The National Tennis Championship 2024 will officially be held for 4 days from January 14 to 17, 2025, at the tennis court of the National Olympic Stadium.

Mr. Chea Pov, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia Tennis Federation, said that the 2024 championship was planned to be held in late 2024, but due to the busy schedule of international youth competitions, the competition has been delayed until 2025.

Mr. Deputy Secretary General also confirmed that the number of athletes participating in the competition from clubs in the capital and provinces will increase, while clubs will send athletes to compete for the 2025 national team, which is being trained by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Mr. Deputy Secretary-General further emphasized that: The National Tennis Championship 2024 will focus on youth athletes under 18 years old, meaning that the Federation will select the outstanding youth who must comply with the technical standards to be trained and prepared for the SEA Games 2025 in Thailand and the Asian Youth Games 2029, which Cambodia will host.

At the same time, Mr. Chea Pov called on private companies to join in supporting and partnering with the Federation in organizing this event to be even bigger in order to encourage male and female athletes to be more competitive, especially contributing to the development of the national sports sector to gain further momentum going forward. 

Mr. Chea Pov also requested that citizens to attend and visit the National Championship in large numbers to encourage and support the national athletes, thus promoting the national sports to be improved.

Please note that the National Tennis Championship 2024 will be held from January 14 to 17, 2025, with competitions in 4 disciplines, including: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and men and women's mixed doubles.
