Despite only having the opportunity to participate in the Southeast Asian Hapkido Championship for the first time, Cambodian Hapkido athletes are equally determined to raise the Cambodian flag on the international stage.
In fact, athletes Mona Jessica, Kong Mona Diana, Lay Kim Hor and Sokhon Sihanut recognize that there will be some obstacles on the way to achieving good results for the country. But everyone has worked hard and was fully committed to this competition.
It should be noted that, 11 athletes of the Cambodia Hapkido Federation, led by Secretary General Kong Chanthina, left Phnom Penh on Monday night, June 9, to attend the 2025 Southeast Asian Hapkido Championship in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from June 14 to 15.
This is the second time that the Cambodia Hapkido Federation has sent athletes to compete internationally, the first time being in August 2024 at the World Hapkido Championship.
Mr. Kong Chanthyna said that, participating in many international competitions is an important opportunity to strengthen the capabilities of male and female athletes.
The same Secretary-General also thanked to Lok Oknha Sao Senghak, President of the Cambodia Hapkido Federation, and other leaders who helped facilitate the travel to participate, as well as the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for their coordination.
