Phnom Penh: Major General Khov Chhay, President of the Khmer Boxing Federation, announced that the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport funded a refresher course for match officials and referees in Khmer Boxing, which was organized by the Kun Khmer Federation.

It is crucial to complete the task of leading the game in an efficient, peaceful, and cohesive manner for the full three days.

The speech was delivered by H.E. Khov Chhay on July 31, 2024, in the evening at the General Department of Sports meeting hall located in the National Olympic Stadium. It was part of the training course for match management officers and referees of Kun Khmer.

According to H.E., there have always been a variety of issues with the competition's past leadership activities, and these issues have all been brought on by inconsistent leadership, disputes over judge scores, and disagreements.

Perceived discrepancies in the evaluation of match results are not the sole benchmark. Therefore, there were conflicting rulings, issues, and legal actions.

As a result, the federation has gradually integrated and reformed the internal stages during the three-day refresher course, updating the technical rules governing the competition to apply the same standards and lessen challenges.

The federation president also stressed that this refresher course is nothing new and that the teachers already know everything they need to know. The only changes which have been made were to align the competition's technical rules with those of the worldwide competition, allowing foreign competitors to feel secure in the Cambodian referee's scoring.

The President of the Kun Khmer Federation hopes that everyone who attends the three-day refresher course will leave with the same knowledge and a similar outlook, allowing them to implement the Kun Khmer Competition's leadership consistently.

Following the Kun Khmer Federation's strategic plan is the only way to succeed. Simultaneously, the President of the Federation expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport for consistently supporting the annual national championship budget and for its attention to the Kun Khmer Federation.

In addition to increasing the Kun Khmer Federation's administrative, technical, and human resource capacities, this support has drawn a lot of interest and attention from the public that supports our Khmer boxing.
