Participating in the Olympic Games, is the highest level sports event in the world, is the dream of every athlete, although that participating in any framework. In fact, Cambodia athlete Chhun Bunthorn is very proud after receiving the right to participate in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, France at the end of this month after he trained hard for more than 10 years.

The 2023 SEA Games gold medalist stated that: "I am very happy and did not expect myself to be one of the candidates which selected by the IOC to compete in the Olympic Games in Paris. I am very proud after years of hard training since 2009 ... until the last minute I was selected to participate in the Olympic Games. I am proud of my own efforts and also of the NOCC leaders that pushed my name into the IOC selection".

After receiving the above golden opportunity, Chhun Bunthon is determined to work hard to get the better achievements, especially breaking national records as well as personal records, even though the chances of competing for Olympic medals are still limited. Bunthon added, "One of the goals of this Olympics is to break the national record, which is a good personal record. This means that the national record in the 800 meters is the record I have competed in the best in Cambodia. So I will try all my best to break my own record in the Olympic Games this year".

It should be noted that Chhun Bunthon is one of three Cambodian athletes who have been carefully selected to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris, France, which will run from July 26 to August 11, 2024 is coming.
