Charity football event led by Samdech Hun Sen raises $5 millions

A charity football event which was led by Samdech Hun Sen under the theme 'Together for Charity and Fighting Drugs’ at the National Olympic Stadium on May 1 raised five millions US dollars from philanthropists to support Kantha Bopha Hospital.

Of the five million, $300,000 went to the Japanese Heart Treatment Centre, $500,000 to the Angkor Hospital for Children, and $200,000 went to the families of the servicemen. Kantha Bopha Hospital received the remaining four million dollars as a donation.

It should be noted that the charity football event featured two matches. Vloggers All Star faced off against S&E All Star volleyball team and Cambodia Football Super Stars (CFSS) team welcomed Kun Khmer All Stars team.

The Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, received an invitation to serve as the CFSS team's honorary coach concurrently. 200 million riels were also contributed by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittipritthbandit; 150 million riels were given by the Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng Football Club, and 40 million riels were given by the Visakha Football Club.
