Speaking at the ceremony to hand over the duties and responsibilities of the International Kun Khmer Federation to Mr. Khov Chhay, Acting Secretary General of the Federation, in the afternoon of July 2, 2025, by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Acting President of the International Kun Khmer Federation, said that both the National Kun Khmer Federation and the International Kun Khmer Federation must have the one internal consensus to ensure the leadership and management of Kun Khmer worldwide with strength and development.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun continued that, this is the major annual reform to streamline the internal work mechanisms as well as to strengthen the working capacity to be better between the International Kun Khmer Federation and the National Kun Khmer Federation, especially under the win-win strategy, of having one voice to lead and manage Kun Khmer in the world, in line with the vision of the Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, in strengthening the capacity of each institution and unit with harmonious work.
Please remind that, the International Kun Khmer Federation was established with the aim of “preserving to develop Kun Khmer” and “developing to preserve Kun Khmer”, which are the Martial Arts of the Khmer National Identity. Over the past three mandates, the International Kun Khmer Federation has expanded its membership to approximately 65 countries worldwide, and currently, the Federation’s leader is urging and gathering other countries in the world to join as additional members, especially to achieve the goal of more than 75 countries so that Cambodia can propose to include Kun Khmer into the Olympic-level competitions in the future.
