Cambodia Boxing Team Expects to Do Well in the Asian Youth Championships

Phnom Penh: The Cambodia Boxing Federation will send three national boxing players and a coach to participate in the Asian Youth Games, under age 22 years old in Sri Lanka, which will officially be held from May 10 to 24, 2025.

The three national boxing players will compete in three weight categories, including a male player Nea Sovann in the 48kg category, a male player Ron Vireak in the 60kg category, and a male player Long Novel in the 51kg category.

 

 

For the composition of the three national boxing players preparing to participate in the Asian Youth Championships in Sri Lanka, Mr. Cheng Dara, the national boxing coach, claimed that currently, the strength of players is not enough, but their technique and fighting skills are good, while this training for preparing, he is encouraging them to improve their strength and fighting skills. With this big competition, on behalf of the national boxing coach, he hoped that, these three players have a high possibility of bringing medals to the country, despite the obstacles of strong countries; he is not worried because they are training and we are also training.

The three Cambodia national boxing players are training to prepare for the Asian Youth Championship under age 22 in Sri Lanka, said that they are working hard to improve their strength and techniques, as this competition is their first Asian-level competition. Therefore, they will do their best to bring good results to Cambodia.

It should be noted that, for the event of the Asian Youth Championship under age 22 ears old this year, the Cambodia Boxing Federation has already been participated twice, at the first time did not win any medal, while the second time in Thailand, Cambodia won 1 bronze medal and 1 silver medal, while the third time in Sri Lanka, where more than 30 Asian countries participated, Cambodia also has high hopes of bringing medals to the country.
