Reth Lyheng is the current goalkeeper for NagaWorld in the Cambodian Premier League (CPL), having previously trained at Bati National Training Football Centre.
Before becoming a professional goalie for a major league club, the young Kampong Cham native had numerous challenges. In 2018, he needed to drop out of school till the eighth grade to work as a service provider at a football stadium to support his family.
During that time, he could earn $120 each month and used it to support his family. Lyheng expressed guilt for dropping out of school and was concerned about his future. But he didn't have a better option at the time.
Lyheng enjoyed football and made time to play at the football stadium where he works. With his skills and dedication, he was chosen to attend the Bati National Training Football Centre in 2019. In 2022, he signed his first professional deal with the big club NagaWorld, where he is currently enjoying his football career.
He stated that he has learnt a lot since joining NagaWorld in the league due to the hard nature of football competitions, but he has also gained new experiences. He noted that football taught him a lot both on and off the field.
