IOC opens the election meeting for new president, and ending on Thursday

(Greece): The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has begun its election in Olympia, Greece, where is the birthplace of the ancient games, and will be finished its election on Thursday with a new president after Thomas Bach's 12-year term ends.

For the best top candidates include the international cycling union president David Lappartient, current IOC vice-president Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, Olympic swimming champion Kirsty Coventry, who is currently serving as Zimbabwe's sports minister, and Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan and the President of International Gymnastics Federation (IGF) Morinari Watanabe, and Johan Eliasch, president of the International Figure Skating Federation.

According to the above sources, the IOC is the world's wealthiest International Olympic Committee, with revenues of around $7 billion over the course of the four-year event. More than 100 IOC members, including federation presidents, national Olympic committee presidents, royal families and billionaires, among others, will be elected on Thursday.
