H.E. Dr. Thong Khon Considered Organizing the Sport Events to Support the Khmer Elephant Conservation Association

H.E. Dr. Senior Minister Thong Khon, President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), considered and supported the establishment of sports events in Ratanakkiri Province to seek funding to support the Association of the Airavata Khmer Elephant Conservation Foundation in order to contribute to the conservation of elephant resources in Cambodia.

This was stated by H.E. Dr. Senior Minister on the occasion of allowing the delegation of the Ai Ravata Khmer Elephant Conservation Fund Association, led by Ms. Chenda Clais, Chairman of the Board and President of the Association, to pay a courtesy call this morning at the NOCC office. H.E. Dr. Senior Minister also recommended supporting to the association to ensure the sustainability of Elephant Conservation in Cambodia.

After hearing the report of the leader of Association for the Conservation of Elephants based in Ratanakkiri, H.E. Dr. Thong Khon praised and supported the will and dedication of the leaders of the Association as well as all working groups to conserve and increase the elephant resources in Cambodia, which is the animals is in the global concern and at risk of extinction in the future.

At the same time, H.E. Dr. Senior Minister will also consider supporting to create the sport events in Ratanakkiri Province to raise funds to support the Foundation Association of the Airavata Khmer Elephant Conservation, such as the events of half marathon and cycling. In addition, H.E. Dr. Senior Minister will strive to appeal to the organizing commission of Sports Events to be aware of this Khmer Elephant Conservation Fund to consider sharing any level of charitable contribution to the Foundation for the Protection and Conservation of Elephants in Cambodia.

On the occasion of meeting with the delegates of the Association of Airavata Khmer Elephant Conservation Foundation, H.E. Dr. Thong Khon also registered as a member (Gold) with the association, as well as campaigning to family members, friends and colleagues to support the association's annual budget also.
