(Phnom Penh): The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) on April 11, 2025, convened a meeting with the National Sports Federations to prepare to send athletes to participate in the competition of the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain in October 2025. The meeting was led by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the NOCC.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun said that, the meeting with the leaders, officials and technical officials of the National Sports Federations focused on disseminating of information as well as reviewing important tasks that need to be expedited and strengthened to be better and preparing for the competition, including various documents and preparing delegates, coaches and athletes for registration.
Out of preparation to participate in the competition of Cambodia sports delegates, His Excellency also focused on preparing to receive the next host flag after Bahrain for the 4th Asian Youth Games in Cambodia. Therefore, out of sending Cambodia sports delegates, Cambodia will also prepare the arts and culture delegates to welcome other countries to Cambodia in 2029.
It should be noted that, the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain will be held from October 22-31, 2025, with Cambodia is preparing to send athletes in 17 sports to participate, including: Khmer Swimming Federation (Water Volleyball), Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Cycling, Table Tennis, Taekwondo WT, Triathlon, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Volleyball, Table Football, Boxing, and World Boxing.
The number of athletes and disciplines will have a meeting and decide after the Khmer New Year celebration in the near future.
