Cambodia Badminton Federation convenes meeting to prepare to host the Southeast Asian Championships early next month

As of today, Cambodia remains 11 days will begin the event of the 2nd Southeast Asian Badminton Championships for Under-15, Under-17 and Under-23 players from 7-12 July 2025 at the badminton court of Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh.

 

In this competition, Cambodia has fielded 12 U23 players, 9 U17 players and 6 U15 players to compete for medals against Brunei, Laos, Myanmar and Timor-Leste. 

The Secretary-General of Cambodia Badminton Federation, H.E. Keo Ros, said in a meeting to review the progress of the work done so far and discuss some challenges that need to be addressed, especially the final review of preparations for hosting the Southeast Asian Championships that: All the working groups have been paying close attention to promoting more local competitions to attract good resources from clubs.

The Secretary General added that: Out of monitoring on the progress of this work, we also monitored the preparation of the three levels of Cambodia players at the U15, U17 and U23, whether they were selected to join the national team in a transparent manner, in accordance with the principles of fairness and to provide them with opportunities to showcase their achievements in competing for medals for the country.

At the same time, H.E. Ly Kosal, President of the Badminton Federation of Cambodia, instructed the coaching teams of the three sets of Cambodia players to pay close attention to improving their quality and efficiency in order to win medals for the country as the host of the 2nd Southeast Asian Championships in 2025. The hosting of the Southeast Asian Championships has been approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
