(Phnom Penh): The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has decided to award Bahrain the right to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG) in 2025, replacing Uzbekistan, which gave up the right to host the continental event every four years. According to a recent OCA announcement.

The above source highlighted that: After receiving a request from the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, around relinquishing the host right and finding a replacement country, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has held a meeting and decided to award Bahrain the right to host the Asian Youth Games 2025 after receiving a short notice between October and November.

Along with the change of the location for the AYG 2025 from Tashkent to West Asia, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), has supported the OCA’s decision and congratulated Bahrain on accepting the host right, while Cambodia is ready to participate in the competition, especially in preparing to receive the host flag to Phnom Penh capital city to host the 4th Asian Youth Games in 2029.

However, after the above change of competing location, the OCA has not yet determined the competition program and sports categories as well as the competition date for the Asian Youth Games 2025. With details related to the competition will be announced soon by the host country, Bahrain.
