The competition of the 2025 national secondary school sports, wrestling has 8 weight categories for capitals and provinces to compete
Phnom Penh: The competition of the 2025 National Secondary School Sports is scheduled to run for 10 days from June 6 to 15, 2025, with the departments of Education, Youth and Sports 25 provinces and Capitals that participating in 14 sports, totaling 123 events. For Wrestling will run from June 11 to 15, 2025 at the Cambodia Wrestling Federation Hall in the National Olympic Stadium.
Ms. Kaing Nochbovor, Secretary General of the Cambodia Wrestling Federation, confirmed that the Competition of the 2025 National Secondary School Sports has 8 weight categories, with only freestyle wrestling event. The weight categories of athletes of provinces and capitals will compete are: women’s freestyle wrestling (50 kg), women’s freestyle wrestling (55 kg), and men’s freestyle wrestling (60 kg). The men's freestyle wrestling category is 50 kg, 55 kg and 60 kg, while the men's heavyweight freestyle wrestling category is 65 kg and 75 kg.
Ms. Kaing Nochbovor highlighted that, the wrestling competition of the 2025 national secondary school sports, which organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, for 2025, is the main goal of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is to find outstanding male and female wrestlers who are students to bring and train them to become potential athletes for Cambodia to compete on the international stage. Meanwhile, this competition also provides well-being to students and creates a happy atmosphere, connecting relationships, friendship and solidarity, which is the response and strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia, that is, one citizen can plays a sport for life.
It should be noted that, the competition of the National Secondary School Sports 202, will be held from June 6-15, 2025 in Phnom Penh, organized in 14 sports, equivalent to 123 disciplines. The event was attended by 25 capitals and provinces, a total of 3,620 people, including 87 delegates, 189 leaders (15 women), 413 coaches and assistant coaches (66 women), 1,589 male athletes and 1,261 female athletes.
