The Senior officials of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the leaders of the International Teball Federation have expressed their joint will to work together in cooperation to promote the development of the Cambodia Teqball sector to further progress in preparation for participating in various activities and competitions, both nationally and internationally, as well as preparing to host the 4th Asian Youth Games in 2029.
This was stated by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State, High Representative of H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, after receiving a working meeting with Mr. Gabor Borsanyi, President of the International Teqball Federation, and delegates at the NOCC headquarters on May 19, 2025.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun said that, the meeting discussed and exchanged opinions with positive results, with both parties agreeing on many points to joint hands to develop the Teqball sector in Cambodia, which is a new type of sport that youth like to play sports with the ball.
As a result of the above meeting, both parties agreed and understood each other on many cooperation activities, especially Mr. Gabor Borsanyi who committed and promised to work with the authorities and the Cambodia Teqball Federation to help promote the development of the Cambodia Teqball Sector, such as:
1. Development plan: Training and dissemination Teqballl activities through sports management institutions and schools. For this work, the International Teqball Federation will work directly with the national federation to provide equipment and training for technical officers.
2. The International Teqball Federation has promised to provide participation and development of Teqball human resources to the National Sports Federation of Cambodia, which is an important point and agreed to join hands to cooperate for success and full development.
3. The exchange of techniques and the desire for Cambodia to be able to organize the international competitions, in that, the International Teqball Federation has also promised to help urging and develop the Cambodia Teqball sector in preparation for hosting the 2029 Asian Youth Games.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun continued that, “The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Directorate General of Sports, the National Federation and all relevant parties have agreed to create a strategic plan for us to plan activities to develop the Teqball and the table volleyball sectors in a specific manner, and we will arrange for coaches to prepare training programs as well as pedagogy in training in this table sport to report to H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron to request the legal support and promote this development in Cambodia.”
