The Cambodia women's wheelchair basketball team qualifies for next year's Asian Para Games in Japan

After the Cambodia women's wheelchair basketball team defeated the India women team in the 2025 IWBF Asia Oceania Championship yesterday, the Cambodia women's wheelchair basketball team has earned the opportunity to compete in the 2026 Asian Para Games in Japan as the second-placed team in Division B.

This is the fourth victory for the Cambodia women's team after defeating Iran, Laos and the Philippines, but losing to host Thailand. With four wins and one loss, the Cambodia women's team is in second place in Division B.


The results of Cambodia's five matches in the 2025 IWBF Asia Oceania Championship in Thailand, which officially concluded yesterday, are as follows:


• Cambodia defeated Iran by a score of 58-43

• Cambodia defeated Laos by a score of 67-40

• Cambodia lost to Thailand by a score of 39-62

• Cambodia defeated the Philippines by a score of 63-14

• Cambodia defeated India by a score of 79-29

Please note that, the strong teams in Division A such as: Japan, Australia and China, compete in the play-off round, with all three teams waiting for the automatic semi-finals, while the other team is the number one team in Division B.


• Division B: Australia, Japan and China

• Division B: Thailand, Cambodia, India, Laos, Iran and the Philippines.
