The Association of the Ministry of National Defense was crowned the champion by winning the most gold, silver and bronze medals, up to 15, among 15 disciplines, in the competition of the National Dance Championship, which concluded successfully in the late evening of December 18, 2025 at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) in Phnom Penh.
The Dance Association of the Ministry of National Defense, which ranked first among the five associations, won a total of 15 medals, including 7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze. Number two is the Sports Association of the Ministry of Interior ranked second with 5 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals, totaling 14 medals, while the Sports Association of Battambang Province won 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, totaling 7 medals. While, Kampong Cham province and Kandal provinces ranked fourth and fifth with some silver and bronze medals.

Stating at the official closing ceremony, Lork Chumteav Nhem Morakot, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and President of the Cambodia Dance Federation, highlighted that the organization of the national dance championship this year was held with the aim of preparing for international sports competitions in the future and promoting the development of Cambodia dance to be like other countries, including the goal of creating opportunities for youth to show their true international dance skills and to urge youth to train in groups to express their beauty and modern dance skills.
Lork Chumteav has also added that, currently, the Cambodia Dance Federation is looking for sponsorship partners to develop dance sport to be more effective and better, as well as providing cooperation in the spirit of national sports with one goal: to seek national honor, prestige, and national sports excellence under the theme of Sports Bringing Peace and Development. Through the federation’s program, it will provide opportunities for young men and women with talent and clear dance skills to become national athletes and receive additional training from national and international federations.

According to Ms. Hang Simon, Secretary General of the Cambodia Dance Federation, the 2025 National Championship used the budget to support the annual development plan to the National Sport Federations of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, including the support of several development partners, such as Westline Group, ACLEDA Bank, Canadia Bank, Lily Cake, Providena Pure Water, and philanthropists. The 2025 National Championship has a total of 61 delegates, coaches, and athletes, with 15 international dance competitions such as Latin Dance (Ballroom) and Standard Dance.
