Winning the medals at this time, is the new historical record for Cambodia in the Asian Youth Games

H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said that winning consecutive bronze and silver medals in the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain is a new record for Cambodia. The new record is because Cambodia had never won any medals in the previous two participations in this event.

His Excellency the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports said: "As of this time, we have won two silver and two bronze medals, ranking 24th out of 45 countries. We will wait to see Cambodia’s other sports competitions. So, this is the new historical record that Cambodia can win medals in the Asian Youth Games because of in the previous two participations, Cambodia has never won any medals."

Relating to the participation in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, His Excellency Vath Chamroeun emphasized that, Cambodia has maintained its dignity and spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, and solidarity, and the host country, Bahrain has received it well, even though they have only been hosting this major event for 8 months, replacing Uzbekistan.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun also called on his compatriots to continue supporting and encouraging Cambodian athletes in the Asian Youth Games and thanked partners for their support, especially Vattanac Company for supporting and encouraging Cambodian athletes who won medals.
