3 medals won at the Asian Youth Games which is the great achievement and the new record for Kun Khmer

Phnom Penh: The Kun Khmer athletes who won silver and bronze medals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in the Kingdom of Bahrain returned to the Kingdom of Cambodia in the evening of October 28 with two other sports: athletics and taekwondo WT, welcomed by H.E. Ke Bunkheang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

H.E. Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation, said that on behalf of the Kun Khmer Federation, we are very excited and proud of the achievements of the 3 medals that the young athletes of the Kun Khmer won at the 3rd Asian Youth Games and brought to the nation.

His Excellency considered the three medals, two silver and one bronze that the Kun Khmer athletes won at the Asian Games to be a great success, as Cambodia has participated twice in the past, but Kun Khmer has only made its first appearance at this third event, and is also competing to win medals for the country.

His Excellency said that winning these three medals is a great achievement and a new record that came from the efforts of young athletes to win for the country.

His Excellency, the President of the Kun Khmer Federation, took this experience of the third Asian Youth Games as a strategy to strengthen the preparation for the coaches and Kun Khmer athletes to participate in future Asian level events. Because this third experience is that we see some shortcomings that we must improve in order to defeat them in future competitions.

At the same time, the President of the Kun Khmer Federation also plans to provide some incentive funds to the three athletes who will receive the price from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and philanthropists to encourage them to continue to train hard to become more capable Kun Khmer athletes.

Please note that, in the 3rd Asian Youth Games hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has 45 participating countries, Cambodia has participated in 14 sports, of which Cambodia has only won 4 medals so far. Of the 4 medals, 3 were won by Kun Khmer athletes, including 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal, while the other one was won by Pencaksilat.
