The Cambodia Boxing Federation will organize the competing event of the 2025 National Boxing Championship from December 23 to 26 at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
H.E. Buy Sophoan, President of the Cambodia Boxing Federation, stated that what is the more important thing above organizing the competition is that the federation has created the fund to help military heroes and Khmer refugees who suffered from the unjust Thai invasion. In the past few days, the federation has been selling the federation shirts to the public, and there will also be sales on the day of the competition. The funds received will be donated to the fund for the military heroes and refugees. Meanwhile, the public can contribute funds through the Cambodia Boxing Federation’s QR Code.
Relating to the non-postponement of competition of the National Championship, H.E. Buy Sophoan emphasized that, to take the opportunity to organize the fund and in the meaning of showing solidarity among all Cambodian people.
Taking this occasion, H.E. Buy Sophoan thanked to Vattanac Company for contributing drinks to Foundation of the Cambodia Boxing Federation and the upcoming national championship. At the same time, Vattanac will also consider contributing the budget to the foundation.
Mss. Touch Leaphea, Chief of Promotion and Information for Vattanac Company, said that the company has always supported Cambodia sports and including boxing sport. Mss. Touch Leaphea said that, Vattanac Company will continue to help and promote the national sports onward.
Around organizing of the national boxing championship, H.E. Buy Sophoan said that, the federation has included a junior category and increased the number of weight categories, from 16 years old and under, and the youth category under 19 years old, as well as the women's category, but there is no age limit like male athletes. The federation has also included a weight category of 13 kilograms to promote the development of junior youth towards 2031, when Cambodia will host the Asian Youth Games. Meanwhile, the participation of clubs and athletes has increased to more than 25 clubs and more than 200 athletes.
