Phnom Penh: 25 participants such as Cambodian Karate coaches, referees and judges have successfully completed the World Karate Competition Rules Training Course, and will bring these knowledge and skills to practice in competition of the 2025 National Karate Championship, which will be held on February 4, 2026.

Mr. Pen Ratana, Chairman of referees and judges commission of the Cambodia Karate Federation, said that the World Karate Competition Rules Training Course, which the Karate Federation has brought to train and share to coaches, referees and judges for 5 days, is the World Karate Competition Rules, which is the rules that all karate federations in every country has been used and implement in competitions.

In particular, the World Competition Rules, which are currently being shared to coaches, referees, and judges, aiming to provide them to have knowledge and skills about the rules of competition, penalties, dignity, and standards that will be used in the international competitions, and have to bring this knowledge to teach to students who are athletes that are preparing to participate in the national championships that the federation will organize in early February 2026. As for the role of referees and judges who have come to receive the knowledge and skills learned and equipped with theory in this course, they will implement them in the competition, including warnings, penalties, scoring, and announcing results according to the standards of the World Karate Competition Rules.

The head of the Referee and Judge Commission emphasized that, if athletes, coaches, referees, and judges have a clearer understanding of the competing rules which is the rules of the world, it will make the upcoming 2025 National Championships free of arguments and complaints that cause difficulties and chaos, making the atmosphere of the competition run smoothly and happily.
In particular, Mr. Siyon Sthapor, Deputy Director of the Department of Professional and Mass Sports, praised and highly appreciated the participants who are coaches, referees and judges for spending their time to learn new knowledge and skills of the world karate rules. He hopes and believes that all participants will use these professional skills to share with male and female athletes and use them to judge the competition with fairness and justice manner.

Please note that, the World Karate Competition Rules Training Course was organized by the Cambodia Karate Federation under the budget support project of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. There was a total of 25 participants such as coaches, referees and judges, of whom many were assessed as high level, 2 as average and 1 as weak.
