The 9th Angkor Ultra Trail will take place in the morning of January 24, 2026, tomorrow at the Angkor resort site, with approximately 1,700 national and international athletes participating, similar to last year.
H.E Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), said that as of this time, the organizing process of the event of the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail has been going smoothly, with the support of the Siem Reap Provincial Authority, the Apsara Authority, and the Angkor Foundation, as well as all relevant forces to ensure and maintain safety, security, order, and smooth organization.

The number of participants is also good, if compared to last year with 1,700 participants, while this year, before the event, has around 1,700 participants. This figure shows that the participation of long-distance runners from around the world in the Angkor Ultra Trail event in the Angkor wonderland is still going strong, especially the increase in national and international athletes who participated in the 100-kilometer race.

His Excellency continued that, “Our growth in participation is even better because we have seen that there are more runners who have completed the 100-kilometer obstacle course, which shows the strength of our people’s well-being. So, the largest number of participants is more than 500 from Cambodia, and the French also increased by more than 500. Then there are other countries from Europe, such as America, England, Japan and China, etc., are all participating.”

“This is the testament of this event organization to help our national society, and to help tourism operators and Siem Reap Province. We hope that the commission will work hard to organize it well, safely and successfully in the 9th anniversary to move forward to organizing the 10th anniversary next year, even more effectively and successfully, with the goal of attracting at least 5,000 participants,” H.E. Vath Chamroeun added.

Please note that, the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail Day, which will be held this Saturday morning, will have 6 events, including 8km, 18km, 32km, 42km, 64km and 100km. The event is scheduled to be held under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
