In the meeting on the preparation for the 2026 major national sports competitions on Thursday morning, January 22, 2026, at the National Sports Training Center, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, highlighted the profound reforms of H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, to promote the event organization to be more effective and attractive.

For 2026, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has a number of important sports events such as primary school games and university games, the 5th National Sports Event, and the 3rd National Para Games. H.E. Vath Chamroeun said that H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron has put forward a clear policy to prepare for the profound reforms to ensure that the process runs smoothly.

His Excellency the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, according to the plan of the 5th National Games and the 3rd National Para Games in 2026 will be held in the second week of November. This is the major national sports event with the participation of thousands of delegates, coaches and athletes from all over the country, which requires the cooperation of the National Sports Federation, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and authorities in all capitals and provinces to ensure the fair competition as well as greatness and inspiring.

Relating to the location of the competition, out of Phnom Penh capital city, the National Games and the National Para Games, any province with the infrastructure suitable for the type of sport will host that sport.
