The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has received the aid in the form of educational and sports materials to help refugees of war

The Aid from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), mostly in the form of sports and educational materials, was donated to help refugees of war, especially teachers and students, through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

 In the giving and receiving ceremony was warmly welcomed by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said that: “On behalf of H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, who has received the charitable aid from the Olympic Movement of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, and more aid has been provided to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and has been warmly welcomed by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, who has appealed for aid to help teachers, students and other refugees of war.This aid is a symbol of the Olympic Movement’s support for the refugees, students and fleeing children to have opportunities to play sports and study.

Out of the food that the IOC and OCA have provided, the sports equipment also contributes to reducing the mental stress of the refugees. This aid for sports and studies follows the IOC and OCA’s donation of 5 tons of rice and other materials recently.

Although the current situation seems to have improved a bit, H.E. Vath Chamroeun still called on the public to continue to help the refugees of war.
