H.E. Dr. Thong Khon gives 5 important recommendations to enhance the quality of Cambodia gymnastics

To make the Cambodia gymnastics more developed in high level, both quantity and quality, achieving good results in participating in the international competitions, especially in preparing for international sports and games in 2026 and hosting the 2031 Asian Youth Games, H.E. Noy Phana, Secretary General of the Cambodia Gymnastics Federation, has brought the following 5 important recommendations from H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, President of the Cambodia Gymnastics Federation as following:

1. Training male and female athletes directly according to age levels and send them to train abroad in order to increase both quantity and quality of high-level technical skills (High Performance).

 

2. Strengthen the capacity of judges, technical officers, coaches, and assistant coaches to improve in both quantity and quality.

 

3. To urge the organization of more competitions and regular training in clubs and associations.

 

4. Strengthen the management structure of existing federations, clubs, and associations to be strong and find more development partners.

 

5. To encourage international competitions to be more and more every year.

Bringing the important recommendations of H.E. Dr. Thong Khon through His Excellency Secretary General Noy Phana were made at the closing ceremony of the National Gymnastics Championship and the 2025 H.E. Dr. Thong Khon Trophy at the National Olympic Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2025.

After many days of tough competition, H.E. Noy Phana said that, has received good results. This is a measure of the ability, technique, and talent that each athlete has worked hard to train. As a result, the athletes who won this time have worked hard to train, respect discipline, listen carefully to the explanations and training of the coaches, and with the attention of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the leaders of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, and especially the leaders of the Cambodia Gymnastics Federation, along with technical officials.

Please note that, competition of the National Gymnastics Championship and the 2025 H.E. Dr. Thong Khon Trophy was attended by teams from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defense, Kampong Chhnang Province, Kratie Province, and Stung Treng Province, with 64 male and female athletes and 33 technical officers, under the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
