Phnom Penh: In the morning of January 20, 2026, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Chairman of the National Sports Federations Implementation and Evaluation Commission, led a meeting on the evaluation Procedure of the National Sports Federations to prepare for the annual budget package of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport to implement the development work of the National Sports Federations for the year 2026.

This meeting was held at the National Sports Training Center in the National Olympic Stadium, with the participation of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the National Sports Federations Implementation and Evaluation Commission, including the Finance, Legal and the Sports Technical Departments, and several specialized sports departments.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Chairman of the National Sports Federations Implementation and Evaluation Commission, said that this meeting was a gathering to come together to share ideas and provide elements to reach a transparent and accurate evaluation of the National Sports Federations. The evaluation by the Implementation and Evaluation Commission is a new context of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports’ reform in the field of physical education and sports. This evaluation is the Implementation and Evaluation Commission’s evaluation of the National Sports Federations by examining three major points in line with the indicators and results that the National Sports Federations have implemented in the past.

His Excellency also emphasized that, the pre-evaluation and approval of the budget package to be given to the National Sports Federations to be used in the development work of the Federation, the Commission will review and evaluate the results of three major points:
1. Review the merits, sports techniques, and potential of the Federation in the 32nd SEA Games in 2023, which Cambodia hosted.
2. Review and evaluate the progress and popularity of the Federation through competitions, etc.
3. Review and evaluate management and leadership work with a focus on governance, such as good processes, accountability, transparency, and responsibility. Any national sports federation that the Evaluation Commission has evaluated as poor or still has a low level may face suspension and be given a budget package according to its performance. This evaluation is a demonstration of social justice, which is highly valued by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun highlighted that, any national sport federation that is evaluated by the evaluation commission in all of the above three major points, will certainly be approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to provide a budget package for development work in a good and appropriate amount as an incentive for hard work.
Please note that, the evaluation by the National Sports Federations Implementation and Evaluation Commission of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will begin to evaluate and approve the budget package for the National Sports Federations to be completed in March 2026.
