H.E. Vath Chamroeun: Studying digital skills is essential to increase work efficiency

Phnom Penh: In the morning of March 3, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, was invited to preside over the opening ceremony of the training course “Using Information Technology to Strengthen Sports Data and Statistics Capabilities” organized by the Department of Event Planning and Sports Statistics, which will be held for 4 days, from March 3 to 6, 2026, with a total of 80 participants (9 women).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, H.E Vath Chamroeun said that: This training course will be a continuation of previous training courses that sharpen digital skills, knowledge in statistics and sports. Studying the digital skills is essential and really helps improve work efficiency, especially in contributing to the implementation of the Digital Government Policy, Digital Economic and Social Policy laid out by the Head of the Royal Government.


Meanwhile, the department will prepare a strategy to further strengthen the capabilities of new technologies for human resources who are skill officials to implement the directly works, in aiming to boost work efficiency and prepare to get another higher level for participating in the upcoming ASEAN University Games 2028 and Asian Youth Games 2031.

His Excellency continued that: Overall, the integration of information technology across various industries is a testament to its importance in increasing efficiency, productivity and service delivery. As technology continues to advance, it is expected that the percentage of individuals using information technology systems will increase, further changing the landscape of global industries.

Because of the sports industry increasingly relies strongly on decisions which urged by data, understanding how to effectively collection, management and explaining the sports data has become a necessity for athletes, coaches, analysts and sports organizations.
