Over the three-day competition of the 2025 National Karate
Championship from February 6 to 8, 2026, at the Boat Roof Hall of the Royal
University of Phnom Penh, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Karate Team won the
most medals out of 27 participating associations and clubs.
As a result, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Karate Team
won a total of 26 medals, including 16 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 3
bronze medals.

At the closing ceremony, H.E. Samedy Sivathana, Secretary of
State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Vice President of the
Cambodia Karate Federation, representing H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy
Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance and President of the Cambodia
Karate Federation, highly appreciated the 2025 National Championship, both the
participation and the quality of the athletes, as well as the excellent
preparation efforts of all technical officials.
His Excellency the Vice President said that, the event organization
of this competition is part of the 5-point plan for the future development of
Cambodia karate, which stems from the high attention, unity, internal
solidarity, willing participation, and proactive spirit of all relevant
parties, under the leadership of His Excellency the President of the Cambodia
Karate Federation.

H.E. Samedy Sivathana has also reminded about the key
recommendations of H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth in developing the federation and
the resources of athletes, coaches and technical officers. In addition,
promoting karate activities to the public to promote public health was also
mentioned.
According to the report from Mr. Dek Phearak, Deputy Secretary
General of the Cambodia Karate Federation, this year’s competition has 27
martial arts schools, associations and clubs, 176 male athletes, 158 female
athletes, 59 coaches, 31 leading delegates, 24 officials, 15 referees and
judges, a total of 463.

In the 2024 national championship, there were only 352
participants, so the participation in the competition of the 2025 National
Karate championship has increased by 111 participants. There are two
competition disciplines: Kata and Kumite, which are divided into 66
sub-disciplines and are divided by age group from 8 to 32 years old.
